The Proud, The Few

1-2 cha cha cha...

This is an opportune time to meet the other contestants taking part in the World Cup. But before we do that, we want to introduce you to Dwayne Leverock (pictured above) from Bermuda.

Dwayne Leverock weighs between 19 stone to 21 stone. Must be the 'before and after' weight. Before and after, what? Lunch, of course. Did we ever mention our intense dislike for the word 'stone', my dear readers? It reminds us uncomfortably of 'millstone' and we hate the word 'millstone'. Weights should always be in kilograms or pounds. That's the way God intended people to measure weights.

As a sign of our extensive research capability, ability to google, and expertise in using a calculator, Dwayne Leverock weighs anywhere between 121 kilograms (266 lbs) and 133 kilograms (293 lbs).

We instinctively liked Dwayne when we first set our eyes on his photograph. We liked him even more when we learned that he is a prison van driver. He is apparently an excellent spinner (bonus points for likeability). If his bowling against England today is any indication, he will be pretty good throughout the tournament. He bowled 10 overs of his slow left-arm orthodox spin for 32 runs and 2 wickets. If only he could bat, he would make an excellent all-rounder.

We are rooting for you Dwayne Leverock.

What about the other contestants? If you insist, here and here are some good primers. If you don't have the time to commit this information to memory, do not worry. They will be out of the tournament soon.
